Agrotour International Tanzania 2024: a plunge into innovative and sustainable agriculture

The Agrotour International Tanzania 2024 kicked off with a first day full of inspiring discoveries and exchanges on Monday August 5 in Arusha.

The event, which runs from August 5 to 9, 2024 in this Tanzanian tourist city, brings together agricultural entrepreneurs, farmers, investors, partners and decision-makers from across Africa to discuss the future of agribusiness on the continent.

Monday’s inaugural day began with a guided tour of Kichangani, in the village of Nduruma, where participants discovered Caroline Kaaya’s exemplary farm.

This exceptional woman embodies innovation and passion in agriculture in Arusha.

“I’ve always believed that agriculture could be a path to self-reliance and prosperity,” she shared.

Inspired by his innovative methods, many of the farmers present expressed a desire to obtain seeds to replicate his success at home.

“Seeing this farm has given me ideas for improving my own farming practices,” commented Guellord Kalunga , an entrepreneur from Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, before adding that “it’s a real source of inspiration.”

Agrotour International is organized by Hope Land Congo and East African Women in Business Platform (EAWiBP), with the support of the Congolese and Tanzanian governments, as well as other partners.

This unique event is an essential platform for sharing experiences and networking, offering agricultural entrepreneurs a valuable opportunity to connect and learn from each other.

Throughout the week, other exciting activities are planned to boost agribusiness on the African continent, with workshops, master classes, Inspire me sessions and practical exchanges.

Participants can look forward to a week rich in discovery, learning and collaboration opportunities to promote sustainable and innovative agriculture in Africa.
